Dental Implants

At whiteorchiddental, we understand the impact a missing tooth can have on your quality of life – not just on your smile, but on your confidence and health. Dental implants offer a state-of-the-art solution for replacing missing teeth, providing a durable, natural-looking, and long-lasting option. Here’s everything you need to know about how dental implants can restore not just your smile, but your ability to live life to the fullest.

Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone beneath your gums. Once in place, they allow your dentist to mount replacement teeth onto them. Because implants fuse to your jawbone, they provide stable support for artificial teeth, dentures, or bridges, ensuring that the replacements won't slip or shift in your mouth – a particularly important benefit when eating and speaking.

Benefits
of Dental Implants

Looks and Feels Like Natural Teeth : Dental implants are designed to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth, enhancing both your smile and your chewing ability.

Long-Term Solution : With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, unlike dental bridges, which may need to be replaced every 5 to 15 years.

Prevents Bone Loss : The absence of natural teeth can lead to bone loss in the jaw. Dental implants stimulate and preserve natural bone growth, helping to maintain your facial structure.

Improved Oral Health : Unlike traditional bridges, dental implants do not require reducing other teeth, preserving more of your natural tooth structure.

Dental Implant Process

Consultation and Planning : Your journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation to discuss your needs, assess your oral health, and plan your treatment.

Implant Placement : The implant, a small titanium post, is placed into the bone socket of the missing tooth.

Healing Process : The healing process can take from 6 to 12 weeks. During this time, you may have temporary tooth replacements if needed.

Abutment and Artificial Tooth Placement : Once the implant has bonded with the jawbone, a small connector post – called an abutment – is attached to securely hold the new tooth. Afterward, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth to create the crown, your new artificial tooth. The crown is then attached to the abutment.
